I got to listen in on a meeting pulled together by Ellen Lobello and Cheryl Higley related to our newest standards initiative! This is a brand new initiative approved by the SIMA Board earlier this year…
SIMA and our Safety Standard Stakeholder Advisory Group met to review the initial draft of a potential set of standards that will cover the essential planning and implementation of a safety program for companies whose employees perform snow and ice management and removal services. This standard practice provides guidance for those companies to aid in the development of comprehensive safety protocols, documentation and monitoring procedures.
As an ANSI-accredited standards making body, we’ll follow all the guidelines put forth by ANSI to finalize this over the coming months, with hopes to launch a new standard in 2024.
